GET CONNECTED WITH THE SCD COMMUNITY
The Sickle Cell Center of Nevada provides multiple levels of service to the Sickle Cell community of
Nevada, including:

Dedicated medical clinics in Las Vegas and Reno;

A full team of clinic professionals (including Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, Medical Assistants, and Physical Therapist) providing diagnosis, testing, and treatment of Sickle Cell Disease;

Direct support services including patient counseling, education, and assistance (provided by nurse educator, licensed Social Worker, and Community Health Workers) for patients with Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait;

Participation in the Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Program, a federal grant program overseen by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA);
-
Participation in the Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening Follow-up Program, a federal grant program administered by HRSA.
SCCNV is operated by the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center of Nevada, which provides treatment of other inherited bleeding disorders; HTCNV is also Nevada’s sole federally designated Hemophilia Treatment Center.

As of January 1st, 2020, the HTCNV has become the statewide lead for the HRSA Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Program (SCDTDP) grant.
As a participant of the Pacific Sickle Cell Regional Collaborative (PSCRC), the SCCNV aims to:

Improve accessibility to quality, coordinated, & comprehensive SCD health care services for affected individuals.

Strengthen the network of knowledgeable providers utilizing evidence based practices.

Expand data collection and processing to document regional improvements in access, capacity, & outcomes.
